Family Weeks

SUMMER FAMILY PROGRAMS




Each year The Holley Institute and Holley Family Village have four family weeks which are for families to have a weeklong, one of kind immersive learning experience. This is for the entire family to attend and foster bonding and acceptance of all members of the family.

2025 Family Weeks Registration is Open!

The Holley Institute's Carls Family Village Family Weeks take place throughout the month of July running from Sunday-Friday. Detailed descriptions for each week's programs are listed below. 2025 Family Week Registration

Family Weeks Tuition Fee: $250 per adult; $150 per child


This fee includes meals, lodging, activities, and presenter fees.

Financial aid and payment plans are available upon request.


Family Week 1

For Families with Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing (DDBHH) Children Ages 0-7 

Sunday, June 29 - Friday, July 4, 2025 


Program Description: For the week, parents will attend morning workshops while their children are supervised by the counselors. The workshops are designed to provide parents with the opportunity to learn strategies for ASL literacy and how English and ASL differ. Parents will be educated on deaf culture and bonding with their Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing child. In the afternoons and evenings there will be various activities to bond families such as bonfires, ASL storytime, and water recreational activities. 

Family Week 2

For Families with Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing (DDBHH) Children Ages 0-7 

Sunday, July 6 – Friday, July 11, 2025 


Program Description: This program aims to improve children’s self-confidence and further develop their social skills. Presenters for this week will cover information regarding civil rights and laws pertaining to DDBHH children. The workshops for this week will also include a panel of DDBHH professionals and advocates available to answer parents' questions.

For Families with Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing (DDBHH) Children Ages 8-15 

Sunday, July 13 – Friday, July 18, 2025


Program Description: This family program is for families whose children are Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing (DDBHH) and going into middle or high school. Parents morning workshops are designed to provide parents with the opportunity to learn more about how to improve their child’s mental and emotional health. Also, they will be shown strategies for ASL literacy and how English and ASL differ.

Family Week 4

For Deaf Parents with Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing (DDBHH) Children Ages 0-17 

Sunday, July 20 – Friday, July 25, 2025 


Program Description: This week’s program offers a unique opportunity for families to come together to learn about, and better understand the two worlds that they simultaneously live in. Families will engage in different activities that will explore, identify, and strengthen their identities and build confidence. Activities include themed events, group games, boating, swimming, arts and crafts, bonfires, storytelling, and drama. Families will also be encouraged to interact and complete activities with other families. Sharing our experiences enables us all to learn about options and resources available to us and can serve as a means of support for each other.
