Youth Career Development and Exploration

The Holley Institute is proud to introduce "Youth Career Development and Exploration" program. Youth Career Development and Exploration is a week long program open to deaf and hard of hearing students from the high school graduating classes of 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Participants will be introduced to the challenges and opportunities of developing a life-long foundation of skills and resources as they begin to map their future in the employment market. Workshops will focus on a variety of topics:
- Career Assessments: What do I want to be when I grow up?
- Resume and Cover Letter Creation
- Networking vs. Social-Networking Sites
- How to Conduct a Successful Interview (the do's and don'ts)
- Dressing for Success
- Job Resources: Available Accommodation Services with American with Disabilities Act
- Entrepreneurs: Being Your Own Boss
Students will also have on-site visits to area employers and presentations by guest speakers. Completion of the course will provide a strong foundation of interpersonal skills and tools to utilize resources for a successful outcome.
